The WebSphere XD configuration is usually made via the WebSphere Admin Console, and therefore stored in the cell's configuration repository.

Unlike subgroup names, connection configuration names must be unique within the configuration repository, as shown in Figure 16.

The deployment manager maintains a master configuration repository that contains configuration information for all the managed nodes.

After you set up the configuration repository database, you can populate it with connection groups and connection configurations.

Connection group names must be unique within a configuration repository.

To create a connection group, right-click on the configuration repository, and select New Group, as shown in Figure 12.

The portal configuration repository now consists of independently manageable database or schema objects (data domains).

You can organize connection information into groups within a configuration repository.

Active Directory is the configuration repository for Exchange organization data.

Placing policy settings in a configuration repository local to the software makes them more visible and easier to change and share.

The configuration repository client is designed to do this by using JMX.
