Zarathustra

In Part IV, Zarathustra assembles in his cave a number of men who approximate, but who do not quite attain the position of the overman.

And when he had said this, the buffoon vanished; Zarathustra, however, went on through the dark streets.

When the morning dawned, however, Zarathustra found himself in a thick forest, and no path was any longer visible.

Zarathustra is carrying away the dead dog: a fine thing that Zarathustra hath turned a grave-digger!

After a while consciousness returned to the shattered man, and he saw Zarathustra kneeling beside him.

This card depicts the evolution of consciousness as it is described by Friedrich Nietzsche in his book, Thus Spake Zarathustra.

And thereupon Zarathustra knocked at the door of the house.

Nietzsche is far from having resolved the difficulty, since Zarathustra is himself a poet, in fact a literary fiction.

Their charter was for a Class III uninhabited planet, which Zarathustra was, and it meant they owned the planet lock stock and barrel.

Once on a time, Zarathustra also cast his fancy beyond man, like all backworldsmen.

Zarathustra, however, still sat beside the dead man on the ground, absorbed in thought: so he forgot the time.

"A living man and a dead one, " said Zarathustra.

Zarathustra, however, remained standing, and just beside him fell the body, badly injured and disfigured, but not yet dead.

Zarathustra came down from the mountains alone, meeting no one.

Long slept Zarathustra; and not only the rosy dawn passed over his head, but also the morning.

The bulk of the first three parts is made up of individual lessons and sermons delivered by Zarathustra.

"No, " replied Zarathustra, "I will give no alms. I am not poor enough for that. "

The old man withdrew, but came back immediately and offered Zarathustra bread and wine.

The language of Zarathustra is helpful here.

Zarathustra has become a child, an awakened one.

Gentle is Zarathustra to the sickly.

Zarathustra answered: "Did I speak of love? I am bringing a gift for mankind. "

He infamously advised in Zarathustra: "Are you going to women? Don't forget the whip. "
