For creators, whether they're writing DOAP by hand or creating tools to output it, a validator shows compliance to the specification.

As you know from earlier in the walkthrough, validator controls also check a user's entry using client script.

Therefore, you must write the inline custom validation logic as if it were dealing with validation in a custom Validator object.

The length. tag file (shown in Listing 12) is another validator that verifies the length of a request parameter.

You can add all of this validation using validator controls, which perform all of the checks for you and automatically display errors.

Doing so is not always bad, but in this case it has unwittingly kept the schema validator from helping out.

This will also avoid that the widget converter and field validator get out of sync.

XML sitemaps validator identifies any sitemap problems for you to resolve before you inform search engines.

Thus, the first job of an XForms validator is to extricate the XForms portions out of a document.

Credit Card Number Validator is a free utility to help you check validity of a credit or debit card number.

As you can see, this implementation of the invocation handler makes use of a generic validator service, the same as in Listing 3.

This is a mistake if you want a schema validator to do the validation for you, and I'll show you why.

If you add this type of constraint at development time, the schema validator will reject the invalid data at runtime.

When a JSF validator finds an error, the form is returned to the user so he or she can correct it.

This attribute validator contains a very simple algorithm; your validators can be as complex as necessary.

In the next section, we'll add a unit validator that checks the MySQL version attribute.

Note that the online version of the CSS Validator is generally older than the CVS version so results and appearance may vary slightly.
