When it was dark, Rahab lowered a rope from her window. Before he climbed down, one of the spies gave Rahab a red cord.

Rahab had the security of knowing she and her family had a place of safety no matter when the army of Israel invaded their city.

Rahab had remembered to tie the red cord to her window, and the Israelite soldiers soon spotted it amongst the ruins.

So they went and entered the house of a prostitute named Rahab and stayed there.

By faith Rahab the harlot perished not with the unbelievers, receiving the spies with peace.

Rahab has a place with God's people. Somehow (by grace) she came to believe in God and did two things that we also must do.

Rahab provided both information and protection for the spies.

Some of the Israelite soldiers rushed off to find Rahab.

Rahab's story shows that belonging to God's family is not based on our goodness but on God's amazing, redeeming grace.
