Red Hat Linux

Red Hat Linux was a logical choice given that it's supported by IBM, plus my own extensive experience with the distribution.

In 2003, just after the release of Red Hat Linux 9, the company introduced some radical changes to its product line-up.

After the initial criticism of the changes, the Linux community accepted the "new" distribution as a logical continuation of Red Hat Linux.

The only catch is if you elect to go with a single-tier solution, that server must be running Red Hat Linux 7. 3 (or 7. 2).

Partly as a result of this, some CD vendors offering Red Hat Linux call it by other names.

timeout= is the number of seconds the boot prompt will wait before automatically loading the default OS, in this case, Red Hat Linux.

Also make sure that the hardware of choice is compatible with the Red Hat Linux operating system.

Red Hat Linux 8. 0 installed quickly and with a minimum of fuss, and Portal had no problems running on 8. 0.
