Dick Tracy

- a US comic strip (= drawings in a sequence that tell a story) about a police detective (= a member of the police who solves crimes). It began in 1931 and is still published. Tracy has a famous square chin and has fought criminals with colourful names such as Mumbles, Flattop and the Mole. There have been radio and television versions and several films, including Dick Tracy (1990) with Warren Beatty.
