Thomas Tallis

- (c. 1505-85) an English composer. He wrote mainly religious music, and was one of the official musicians and composers of the royal family. He is best known now through a piece of his music that was adapted by Ralph Vaughan Williams: Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis (1910).
