somebody’s face fits/doesn’t fit - (British English) used to say that somebody will/will not get a particular job or position because they have/do not have the appearance, personality, etc. that the employer wants, even when this should not be important长相(不)合格;性格(不)合适
- If your face fits, you'll get the job.如果你的脸型合适,你就会得到这份工作。
- It doesn't matter how well qualified you are; if your face doesn't fit, you don't stand a chance.资历多好也没用,如果人家看你不顺眼,你就不会有机会。
