(1618-58) an English poet. He was one of the 'Cavalier poets' who supported King Charles I during the English Civil War. He was put in prison during the war and wrote some of his finest works there, including the poem To Althea, from Prison, which contains the famous lines: “Stone walls do not a prison makeNor iron bars a cage.”（1618-58）英国诗人。他是英国内战期间支持查理一世国王的“骑士诗人”之一。战争期间，他被关进监狱，并在那里写下了一些最优秀的作品，包括《监狱里的阿尔西娅》这首诗，其中有一句著名的诗句：“石墙不能成为监狱，铁栅栏也不能成为笼子。”
