Euergetism (also spelled evergetism) was the term derived from the Greek word "ε?εργετ?ω", which means "doing good deeds". It is the practice of wealthy or high-status individuals distributing a part of their wealth to the community, rather than individuals, as exemplified by the patron-client relations in ancient Rome.
