Objective To observe the effect of phacoemulsification with transparent temporal corneal incision on corneal sensation.

Conclusion: LASIK caused a decrease in tear film stability and tear secretion early stage after operation, probably due to decreased corneal sensation after LASIK.

Tear secretion was decreased so that patients with dry eyes, and a burning sensation, a serious ocular conjunctiva, corneal infection and ulcers, and may result in uveitis, cataract and glaucoma.
