Hardness measurement on welding thermal simulated specimens and crossweld specimens showed that no softening occurred in the HAZ. All the crossweld tensile specimens ruptured in the base metal.
It showed that the weldcross section with both laser welding processes transformed from nail shape to near X shape with increase of laser power and decrease of welding speed.
