Hydration of ion has bad influences on double-layercapacitance of carbon electrode, which can be reduced effectively by selecting large ion or increasing pore size of carbon electrode.
The large capacitance exhibited by these systems was demonstrated to arise from a combination of the double-layercapacitance and pseudo-capacitance associated with surface redox-type reactions.
High specific capacitance activated carbon materials for electric doublelayer capacitors (EDLC) were prepared by microwave radiation, using coconut shell chars as the precursor.
