Where damage has been identified, it has been cracking high in the dam and where additional features such as curbs, railings, gates, or guard or control houses are located.

These factors include importance of the dam, severity of the ground motion, occurrence or lack of observed damage, and availability of quality strong motion records at or near the dam.

No damage was reported to any concrete dam except a minor slope failure at one reservoir formed by a concrete dam.
