General anesthesia may be preferable in patients who are young, who cannot lie still on the operating table, or have a medical condition that is safer to perform in this manner.

In the first phase, a feasible operating condition is given and the system will iteratively track to a point on the tradeoff boundary.

Any machines, equipment, and fixtures not covered above should be in safe operating condition.
