Electrovalency is the type of chemical bonding, that is established by the actual transference of one or more valence electrons, from a metallic atom to a non-metallic atom, so that each of the 2 elements can attain the stable electronic configuration of their respective nearest inert elements in the periodic table. This results in the formation of oppositely charged ions(cation and anion), which are held by electrostatic force of attraction and they in turn form an electrovalent compound.
