The hydraulic shear for square stainless steel billet designed by our company for caster is introduced, its type selection, structure and shear stress calculation are analyzed.
The results showed that high cooling rate of hot rolled billet resulted in abnormal microstructure formation and high hardness, which caused shear cracking.
