The court ruled that Dailymotion must pay a symbolic one euro to Christian Carion, the director of the film Joyeux Noel, as well as 23, 000 euros to the film's distributors.

Carion's film was first discovered on Dailymotion's servers in February, and though it was taken down at the copyright holders' request, it was later re-uploaded by users and again removed, according to Dailymotion spokesman Ephraim Cohen.
