The bearing characteristic of large diameter and super-long pile in quaternary soil layer is analyzed in the case of no good bearing layer (such as rock, sand and cobble layer) and no ripe experience.

In this paper an attempt has been made of improving the saturated soft soil ground by means of dynamically compacted sand-cobble columns.
