BEIJING — This city’s network of arterials, five ring roads that are fed by nine more freeways, is barely two decades old, but it is already sclerotic.

The road resources between arterials that are left unused are explored to shunt the traffic of arterial network, not only alleviating traffic pressure but also saving land and investment.

The paper analyzes the characteristics of fuzziness of dynamic space occupancy of different vehicles on urban arterials, and classifies the different vehicles by means of fuzzy clustering.
