Motorcycle disk brake is widely used because of its small radial dimensions, axial application of force along the disk when braking, no bending moment on brake shaft and braking stability.

The forming of axial parts by extrusion is discussed. The horseshoe axle in the brake of a flat headed lorry was taken as an example for analysis, calculation and testing.
