The flow induced oscillation in a cavity exposed to external high speed flow and its suppression by means of sound excitation at the leading edge of the cavity are experimentally studied.
In this paper, the laser cavity two-mode oscillation and mode competition are studied. The paper discusses the intensity of each modes and obtains stable state condition.

In the experiment it is found that at a certain external flow velocity and cavity size a strongly self sustained flow oscillation in the cavity would appear.
