Note that when the currently active audiooutputdevice does not support volume control (such as an A2DP device), the volume slider is replaced by the appropriate device name.
In general, they all work the same: the connector contains pins that go into ports on your video outputdevice which transmit video, audio, and more over the wires in the middle.
