At seven the market is surprisingly quiet, just a few vegetable and kanom vendors and others selling pork, beef, and chicken in a glassed-in 'meat room'.
The interior spaces feature room for housing, offices, scientific laboratories, and entertainment, and a series of bioremediating vegetable gardens provide a source of food while recycling waste.
Special features of this year's gingerbread house include a shadow box view of the State Dining Room and marzipan renderings of the vegetable garden and our favorite four-pawed friend, Bo.
