In Africa, monkeypox infection has been found in many animal species: rope squirrels, tree squirrels, Gambian rats, striped mice, doormice and primates.

Outside my window there stands an oak tree. I'd rather watch birds but sometimes I'm entertained by the antics of squirrels.

Squat, homely, dwarfed by the stately oaks and poplars nearby and unnoticed by the tourists passing in horse-drawn carriages, it's a tree that only birds and nut-hungry squirrels could love.
