This article introduces the general design method of atmospheric vessel's vacuum relief.

This design can be used in the pilot operated pressure relief mode and also provide pilot operated vacuum relief.

Inlet pressure losses developed during relief conditions must be taken into account when sizing the pressure and vacuum relief devices.
