To promote just how life-like images appear on the company's 82-inch 'UltraHD' TV, LG created a fake office in which one of its screen was positioned to look like a window.
If all 33m pixels that the Super Hi-Vision format (known as UltraHD elsewhere) offers were crammed onto a 22-inch screen, the picture resolution would be an astonishing 400ppi.
With TV on demand evidently here to stay, and 3d and gaming variants of Ultra-HD plausible too, it isn't hard to see how future gigabit fibre networks could be rapidly eaten up.
