In simple terms, the Murano CrossCabriolet is an all-wheel-drive Murano crossover in which an automatic folding fabric top replaces the metal roof, and the two rear doors have been eliminated.

The vehicle, which was recently given a 110-pound weight exemption by the FAA, transforms from a two-wheel drive car to an airplane with a range of 460 miles in less than 30 seconds.

In the longer term, the two firms will co-operate on a new rear-wheel-drive large-car platform, for use by Alfa Romeo as well as Chrysler.
