Conclusion There were no statistically significant differences in Chinese Kazakstan and Chinese Han in distribution of TPMT activity and genotype frequence of TPMT.

TPMT genotype correlates well with in vivo enzyme activity in erythrocytes and is closely associated with risk of toxicity. Genetic mutations are responsible for TPMT deficiency.
