Unlike poll(), the pollset interface does not require the selector to copy the entire file descriptor set each time when select() is called.

I made a count variable of the length of selector before the loop and reduce this by one each time, but obviously this is a less than ideal solution.

Each time a segment selector is loaded on to segment registers, the corresponding segment descriptor is loaded from memory into a matching non-programmable CPU register.
