In this paper, FEM was applied to analyze the stresses in the spherical tank with staggeredjoint defects, and the distribution of 2-d stresses and bending stress were discussed.

Measures were given to the over-long floor and the staggered floor. A joint model of shear wall by FEM method was analyzed. The result shows that the capacity can satisfy with the design.
