This simple diagram, also known as a "swim lane" diagram, is a start to identifying components within the system.

In the swim lane view, as you mouse over each step in the use case, a little bubble pops up showing you the result of the step.

It is usually divided into different swimming lanes, and I can swim in my own lane.
