Comparatively it is the first time that the stratigraphic sequence in Chifeng Basin is introduced completely in this paper, and the spore-pollen assemblages have been set up.
The abrupt changes in spore-pollen species and in the content of reduction sulfur are sensitive to water depth, and can be used as indicators for sequence boundaries and system tracts.
