The paper reviews the application of cold-rolled, hot-rolled steel sheet and round steels in the cab and chassis of domestic heavy truck, and discusses the methods to reduce automotive dead weight.

For the inner crack appearing often in round-rod rolling steels in the production, the influence to the crack from deformation extent and mechanical condition in the deformation region is discussed.
