The influence of sludge type, sludge moisture content, drying method and thermal drying temperature on sludge adhering quantity during thermal drying was investigated through experiment.

Other fuels such as wood, biomass, shredded tires and sludge are also candidates, depending on their percentage of heat input, moisture content and emission requirements.

In general, increased solids recovery in centrifuges is associated with increased moisture content in the dewatered sludge.
