The main technology to realize high production and high efficiency in abroad is fully mechanized long-wall mining for a single seam or room-and-pillar mining.

The theoretical formulas are developed and applied to the prediction of the rock mass displacements and deformations due to underground mining by pillar-and-room method in mountain areas.

We propose a new mining method: point-pillar paste filling based on the combined advantages of room-pillar method and backfilling.
