The measurement erases the information from its original location, but because of entanglement, that information resides in an encoded form on the secondparticle, no matter how distant it may be.
The announcement was made at the second annual Summit of Information Specialists in Particle physics and Astrophysics held at DESY on May 20th and 21st.
The LHC had already broken the record for collision energy, but now it has the highest rate of particle collisions per second as well, which should speed up new discoveries.
