Systematic rock bolt support and shotcrete were carried out for the surrounding rock and reinforcement was done locally for rock stability.

The article analysed national situation of bolt shotcrete and wire in soft rock, based on theory of broken-rock circle, concluded the relation of broken-rock circle and soft support.

According to the characteristics of soft rock tunnel in Hongmiao coal mine, the rational support for the tunnel is suggested. The application of bolt and shotcrete support is described in detail.
