Wire fixation brought about secondarybone healing (traditional bone healing). The study suggests that the quality of bone healing by compression fixation is superior to wire fixation.

Secondary conditions include chronic inflammatory diseases, immobilization for long periods, endocrine or hematologic diseases, and cancer and associated treatments that adversely affect bone.
