Waelz slag, to give its technical name, is composed mainly of silica but is also undesirably rich in poisonous metals like lead and zinc. Getting rid of it safely is thus a problem.

Those demonstrated that the formed-model in this paper can basically interpret the process for the high lead slag smelting in blast furnace.

The experimental result shows that the sulfuric acid leaching method is more suitable for tellurium slag containing high lead than alkaline leaching method.
