例如《手册》中巴基斯坦信德语中[c]系列的辅音，归入硬腭塞擦音（palatal affricate），听起来却像是龈后（post-alveolar），也就是我们日常所说的舌叶音，可是《手册》中却把卷舌音（retroflex）列入龈后。
