Corn is a prime source of feed for dairy cattle and the rising costs could force farmers to reduce their herds, leading in turn to reduced supplies.

While one half of Silicon Valley is busy developing clean supplies of energy, the other half is working out ways to reduce demand for the dirty kind.

What's more important would be the policy to increase food supplies, and to reduce costs and provide fiscal subsidies for low income consumers.
