By analysis of sand grain size in sediment microenvironment of modern rivers, the size and shape of grain and surface texture feature of quartz grain were described in this paper.

Quartz grain surface textures in coastal dune sand which is mainly derived from beach sand have features characteristic of both typical aeolian environment and inheritable and reformable beach sand.

The dune sands are very well sorted and rounded pure quartz sand(>95%) with single mode grain distribution and without suspension materials.
