According to scattering phenomenology, we point out that the commonly used point scattering models fails to accurately describe the complex scattering behavior of real target.

We present here a new technique for the analysis of the transmission and scattering in multilayer dielectric waveguides from the point of view of coordinate transformation.

According to this point of view the transmission and scattering in multilayer dielectric waveguides can be regarded as coordinate transformation of a vector in ann-dimensional vector space.
