The Animal Relief Coalition for Haiti (ARCH) was formed just days after the quake by the World Society of the Protection of Animals (WSPA) and the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW).

As a fellow environmentalist, animal-protection advocate and longtime vegetarian, I could properly be in the same camp as Emma Marris on the issue of zoos.

Hospital staff took care of it during the period, and now an animal protection association is helping it get adopted.
