This paper analyzes a simple plate crown model and gives an on-line model relevant to it.

The influence of data treatment method for measured force and gap and plate crown on gauge calculation is also analyzed.

The analyzed results indicate that the maximum plate crown value of roll shape curve is related with plate width variation.
