Pressure switch (optional) is installed in system to realize automatic transfer for pump under low oil pressure.

There is an oil pressure sensor near the oil pump that monitors pressure and sends this information to a warning light or a gauge on the dashboard.

If oil pressure was low and pump is within specifications, inspect for worn engine bearings or other reasons for oil pressure loss.
