Influences on the speed and direction of the rotation by the phase Angle of the supply voltage, initial Angle of rotor position, PM line flux and the load torque are discussed.

The software which controls this process is able to measure the success of previous changes to the rotor Angle and use that information to fine-tune future attempts to dampen wave-induced movement.

The parameters are calculated from the data of small perturbations of the generator voltage, current and rotor angle during system disturbances.
