The euro is here to stay. the People of western Europe will grudgingly get accustomed to an antiseptic, acultural money that doesn't bear the likenesses of national heroes such as Homer, Michelangelo, Marie Curie, Christopher Columbus et al. But those who view the euro as the vehicle for generating political unification of the continent are living in a dream world.
