The environment friendly non-formaldehyde binder, prepared by pre-crosslinking for pigment dyeing without baking was introduced in this paper.

The causes of low dye-pickups and faint shades in dyeing of flax were studied on the basis of the fiber structure; pigment dyeing was then used.
